It is actually really common to find all sort of furry creatures inside your axles. The biggest thing we see are wires that have been chewed on from mice, they usually like to make a small nest in the air box.
I’ve also occasionally had to clean off parts of a deer…that was not a pretty sight. If you are going to be storing your car away for a long period of time, it is definitely worth it to spray some rodent deterrent beforehand.
