Sometimes, clients will come in for a ‘second opinion’ but will make a huge mistake of telling the mechanic what the first price and diagnosis were before hearing what they have to say.
Then, the shop worker might end up keeping the same price or go lower (a little) even if that price is higher than what they typically would charge for that service. It is always better to get a second opinion, just wait until you hear what it is before giving your first offer away.
