Upon being asked about his relationship with actress Kelly Holmes, Cruise began jumping up and down with a frenzied excitement, even leaping onto Oprah’s sofa repeatedly. Since the 80s, Cruise had been an affable heartthrob – always smiling, agreeable, and serene. This outburst completely shattered that image, freaking quite a few people out, and forever attaching a sense of hidden mania to Tom. Since then, Cruise has never been quite able to rebuild his former calm and affable image.
