Serendipity is making a very fortunate yet unplanned discovery. Silly Putty, for example, was born out of a failed attempt at creating synthetic rubber. Another example of serendipity? Discovering that an actor most famous for playing a sparkling vampire actually descended from the real-life influence behind Dracula. That’s right, Robert Pattinson, most famous for playing brooding vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight movies, is distantly related to Vlad III Dracula, also known as Vlad the Impaler, who ruled the Romanian region of Wallachia. Pattinson’s ancestors intermarried with Dracula’s descendants. We can’t help but wonder whether the Twilight producers knew…
