According to Oher, the movie itself actually contributed to the ruin of his NFL career. He says that he was being paid undue attention and getting more criticism for his playing than at any other time in his career, and getting more than any other defensive lineman in the league, despite performing equal to or greater than other linemen. He says that this has led to people calling him a “bust” because they expect him to be a superhuman.
