Playing in an era that was much less pass-friendly by today’s NFL standards, Lofton was able to achieve eye-popping numbers. He eventually became the first player in the history of the league to reach the 14,000 receiving yards mark. Setting the bar for future great wide receivers to match, Lofton was selected to eight Pro Bowls during his career. He was also inducted into the Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2003.
