The beehive hairstyle was thought up in 1960 as hairstylist Margaret Vinci Heldt was tasked with creating something new and exciting for Modern Beauty Shop magazine. The beehive was born.
All of a sudden, celebrities across the world wanted to wear the style from themselves, and the rest of us tried to recreate the look. The hairstyle shot to fame throughout the decade, and by the end of the ‘60s, it had gone down as an ever-lastings style that is still used today.
