[post_page_title]16. Gary Payton[/post_page_title]
Gary Payton was one of the best – if not the best – defensive point guards in NBA history. He, alongside Jason Kidd, were the only two PG to be selected to the All-Defensive team at least nine times. More impressive, Payton is the only point guard to ever be selected as the Defensive Player of the Year (1995-96).
The Glove racked up 21,813 points and nearly 9,000 assists in 1,335 games (over 17 years), averaging 16.3 PPG and 6.7 APG.
