[post_page_title]Goalies in shootouts[/post_page_title]
If a soccer match comes down to a shootout and you don’t have any substitutions left,, you better pray your goalie doesn’t get injured. According to the rules, a goalie who is injured during a shootout can only be replaced if the team hasn’t already used up its maximum allowed substitutions. Also, if the goalie is sent off, some other player from the team has to stand in in his place. The NHL also doesn’t allow for goalie substitutions during shootouts, unless of course the goalie is injured.
