It may seem as though Sheldon simply dropped down from space, but we do have proof that he didn’t. Laurie Metcalf took on the role of Mary Cooper in The Big Bang Theory, and it’s safe to say that her short visits leave a lasting impact on her son.
As a born-again Christian from Texas, Mary has incredibly strong views about the world which often contradict her son’s belief in science. Nevertheless, she is one of the only people who can truly understand Sheldon and his quirks, and this often comes in handy.
