Upon finding out that Nikki had run off to Vegas when she was 20 to secretly marry her high school sweetheart, his reaction was very sweet. “I don’t care,” John said. “What you did before you met me is what you did before you met me”. How nice is that? Clearly, John knows how valuable Nikki is to him, and he didn’t want to let something silly from Nikki’s past get in the way of that. At the time, the two must have thought they would be together forever.
