It turns out that Michael Oher hates the movie. He says that he feels that people only like him now out of pity due to his hardscrabble back story and not for the successful NFL player that he is today. He wishes that people would be more able and willing to give him credit for his playing abilities and not look at him the same way one would look at a puppy rescued from a storm drain.
