Michael Oher beats it all

Perhaps the biggest controversy the movie dealt with was the fact that The Blind Side may be construed to be a story with a White Saviour narrative. This narrative is one in which a wealthy, cultured white family goes to a more disadvantaged section of society, adopts one of them, and “saves” them from a life of hardship. In fact, Professor Jeffrey Montez de Oca says that the movie only serves to further subject the less fortunate, and that the movie is inherently racist.
