It’s unclear whether the wage situation for waitstaff will change here anytime soon. Although servers are desperate for larger paychecks, there’s no sign that things will be getting any better for them.
For now, they’ll have to keep relying on the generosity of patrons and hope that their tips continue to be big enough to pay their bills. It’s not an ideal situation, but as long as people don’t start following CNBC’s controversial “tipping trick,” it should keep everyone going for the time being.
