Draft no.: 2nd overall
Draft year: 2009
Team: Memphis Grizzlies
Hasheem Thabeet was an incredible college ballplayer while at UConn. But the center just couldn’t make it in the big leagues. He played 68 games with the Grizzlies before he was shipped off to Houston, and continued bouncing around the league until he ended up in the DLeague and later playing abroad. Thabeet was seen as a player-in-the-making, a project that could develop into a superstar, but he never developed into the player he could have been.
