Blyleven managed to strikeout 3,701 batters during his time as a pitcher, earning himself a call-up to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2011. He debuted in MLB for the Minnesota Twins, going on to play for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cleveland Indians, and California Angels before retiring. During his career, he was a World Series champion twice as well as being selected for the All-Star game two times.
