Palmer pitched 2,212 strikeouts for the Baltimore Orioles from, 1965 to 1984, winning the World Series a total of three times in his career. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1990, while the Baltimore Orioles held him in such high regard they retired his jersey number, 22, when he finished playing.
