[post_page_title]18. Lenny Wilkens[/post_page_title]
Lenny Wilkens was a force on both sides of the ball, and starred as a player way before he became a coach. While he was never chosen as MVP (but came in second to Wilt Chamberlain), Wilkens was the season assist leader in 1970 and was a nine-time All Star during his 15 years in the league as a player, averaging 16.5 PPG, 6.7 ASG and 4.7 RPG.
Wilkens made seven postseason appearances, all with the Hawks, but was never able to win a ring. He was so valuable in St. Louis, that the only year they didn’t make it to the playoffs in a nearly 20 year span was the season Wilkens played in only 20 games.
