This iron man Hall of Famer spent a decade with the Celtics, where he set a franchise record of 488 consecutive games played and, more importantly, won two titles – in 1974 and 1976 – while also winning Finals MVP the latter season. White, a seven-time All-Star, averaged 17.2 points, almost five assists and four rebounds throughout his career.
He also all 82 games for five consecutive seasons during the seventies and was the standout player in the NBA’s “greatest game ever played” – game 5 of the 1976 Finals, where the Celtics beat the Phoenix Suns in triple-overtime and White being the game’s leading scorer with 33 points and passer with nine assists, en route to another Beantown title.
