[post_page_title]12. Derrick Rose[/post_page_title]
In his prime, Rose was better than either Deron Williams or Isaiah Thomas (the younger) but his career was scuttled due to injuries just the same. A first draft pick in 2008 for his hometown Chicago Bulls, he was Rookie of the Year and then, three years later, the youngest player to ever win the MVP at 22. An outstanding scorer, Rose’s career highs were averages of 25 points and nearly eight assists a game.
A three-time All-Star with Chicago, he made Bulls fans clamor hope for another championship. While he made them contenders, his supporting cast was never good enough. He’s ranked thirteenth because in his prime, he was the league’s best PG – the problem is his prime was short. After four knee surgeries in nine years, hopefully he’ll be able to regain some of his groove with Minnesota.
