The case of Thomas and his tenants is one of the more extreme examples of tenants you wouldn’t want going anywhere near your property. In actuality, it doesn’t take much to be a caring, thoughtful tenant.
Thomas’ tenants didn’t seem to mind living in a home that looks like it was hit by a hurricane, but most people would. The landlord doesn’t live in the house – the tenants do, and making sure it’s kept in good, liveable shape is just as much in their interest as it is in his.
