Kimberly was actually having something of a struggle trying to get help for Dan. She had attempted to contact the police department of Walker, Michigan, only to be told that they were not responsible for the area Mr. Magennis was in.
Supposedly, that area had its own emergency services that she would need to contact. At this point, Kimberly was getting extremely frustrated, but she stayed calm and contacted the Grand Rapids fire department, who were willing and able to help.
