Woman saves her partner’s life from 9,000 miles away during their casual phone call

The ability to save a life can fall into anyone’s lap, at the most unexpected times. One radio enthusiast from Bristol, England, found his hobby to be a help that he might never have dreamed of, during an emergency in 2017.

Mike Everett, 24, was an electronics student and radio enthusiast, experiencing what looked to be a day like any other, until a call came through on his radio. After listening for a few seconds, Mike realized from the sound of the voice coming through that the situation was dire, and the caller needed help immediately.
