The career-long Red Wing center was one of the most respected players of his era. He finished his 14-season long career with 918 points in 953 games played. He won the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy four times (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009), was awarded the Frank J. Selke Trophy three times (2008, 2009, 2010), is a gold medalist from the 2012 World Championships and two-time Stanley Cup winner (2002, 2008). In 2016 the Red Wings traded his contract to the Coyotes, and Datsyuk then signed a two-year contract back in Russia. Needless to say, he left Detroit a hero.
