Alex Ovechkin is considered one of the greatest, if not the greatest, Russian player to ever take the ice for an NHL team. The career-long Washington Capitals forward has tallied 1,035 points for his career so far, with 558 goals and 477 assists. In 2016, Ovechkin became the first Russian player to score 500 goals in the league and only the 43rd player to ever reach the feat. He was also the third youngest player to ever win the Hart Trophy in back-to-back years, after Bobby Orr and Wayne Gretzky.
