Mike Conley isn’t an NBA superstar. He hasn’t even played in an All Star game. But he’s important to the Memphis Grizzlies. In fact, he’s so important that in 2016 they signed a five-year, $153 million contract. In 2016-17 he was paid $26.5 million, and his paycheck will increase by another two million a year through the 2020-21 season, during which he will earn $34.5 million. Conley stepped up his game to match his salary, and averaged 20.5 PPG and 5.7 assists this past season.
