In November of 2016, Cristiano Ronaldo inked a five-year contract with Real Madrid that would pay him 365,000 pounds a week, meaning $478,000 a week through the 2021 season. The new contract earned him the title of highest paid player on the continent, beating out his teammate Gareth Bale. Ronaldo, of course, makes a lot more than just his salary, and came in at no. 1 on Forbes’ list of top-paid athletes in 2017. According to Forbes he makes $58 million a year from salary/winnings and another $35 million in endorsements.
