Lottie Dod is considered by some one of the most versatile athletes ever, if not in the world than certainly in Britain. As a tennis player, she first competed in Wimbledon in 1887, when she was just 15 years old. She would go on to win five Wimbledon titles in 1887, 1888, 1891, 1892 and 1893. She was also a member of the field hockey team, became the British ladies amateur golf champion in 1904, and competed in the Olympics in archery, winning silver.
