As if being a two-time World Championship silver medalist, and gold winner of the 1976 World Championships wasn’t enough, Dorothy Hamill also invented her own special ice skating move. The ‘Hamill Camel’ is a move that starts by performing a camel spin and ends with the skater in a sit spin. The move was born at the 1976 Austrian Winter Olympics where the skater managed to bag a gold medal for her routine. In 1993 Dorothy was tied for first place in the Olympic Athlete of the year competition.
