Tenley will forever hold the title as the first American to ever bring home a gold medal for figure skating. After retiring, the former Olympic star was looking for a new career path to keep her busy. She settled on a life as a surgeon after graduating from Winsor and Harvard. Tenley continued her new job for 23 years before becoming the Director of the MIT Collaborative Initiatives – a position she still holds to this day. Tenley is also happily married to Gerald Blakeley, the former Ritz-Carlton hotel owner.
