Thomas couldn’t begin to comprehend just how disrespectful his tenants had been. They were not only 14 months behind on their rent, but they had also left the house in a despicable way. While Thomas knew that he probably wouldn’t receive the money that he was owed, he at least expected them to remove their belongings before moving out.
However, as he made his way into the kitchen, he soon realized that that wasn’t the case. In fact, he couldn’t even see the floor of the kitchen, because it was covered in cardboard boxes, kitchen utensils, and food. According to Thomas, the stench of rotten food on the worktops and in the refrigerator was overwhelming.
