When Alexei Yashin was at the top of his game, he was a force to be reckoned with. He was dominant from the start, tallying 79 points during his 1994 debut season and the center recorded 95 points in 1998-99, playing all 82 games with 44 goals and 50 assists. He was nominated for the Calder Trophy his rookie year, and in 1998 he scored a goal in overtime that helped the team get its first ever playoff series win. Yashin was then named captain of the Senators. But the last three seasons of his career saw a drastic dip in his numbers.
