After a few tentative steps out into the road, Chimanuka found his swagger and strutted the rest of the way to the middle.

It looked like he was a gorilla on a mission, but it still wasn’t clear to Buchanan and the gathering bystanders what Chimanuka was up to. As quickly as he had started strutting his stuff, Chimanuka stopped like a statue in the middle of the road, it looked as though he waiting for something to happen.
