[post_page_title]Rudolph’s origins[/post_page_title]
Twas the Night Before Christmas mentions eight of Santa’s reindeer, there is a ninth that is probably the most beloved and famous. We’re referring to the adorable Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer. He first appeared in a book in 1939, over 100 years after the poem.
The story is about a reindeer that was mocked for his red nose, but he eventually saves the day when his bulblike feature lights the way for Santa’s sleigh. Obviously the character was successful, as Rudolph is pretty popular now in songs, movies, and books.
