The Boston Red Sox Fred Lynn was the first player to win both the Rookie of the Year award and MVP. Back in 1975, Lynn hit .331/.401/.566 with 103 runs, 175 hits and 105 runs batted in. Lynn also hit 21 home runs and 47 doubles in 145 games. The centerfielder led the league with doubles, runs and slugging percentage, and won his first of four Gold Gloves.
