Little did they know then, that 25 years later the would retire his jersey and place a plaque with his name on it in monument park. Jeter debuted with the Bronx Bombers in 1996, hitting .314/.370/.430 with 104 runs, 183 hits and 78 RBI. The Captain would go on to be one of the most beloved Yankee players of all time.
