Year: 1911
Team: Cleveland
“Shoeless” Joe Jackson played in 30 games combined between 1908-1910, amounting to 127 plate appearances, which is still below the 140 standard now used to characterize a rookie season. In 1911, his official rookie season, Jackson burst on the scene, hitting .408/.468/.590 with 9.2 WAR. Jackson hit only seven home runs (but remember this is the Dead Ball Era), but tallied 233 hits, 126 runs, 83 RBI and stole 41 bases.
