Derek Jeter, the high schooler out of Kalamazoo, Michigan, was drafted by the New York Yankees in the first round of 1992. Little did they know then, that 25 years later the would retire his jersey and place a plaque with his name on it in monument park. Jeter debuted with the Bronx Bombers in 1996, hitting .314/.370/.430 with 104 runs, 183 hits and 78 RBI. The Captain would go on to be one of the most beloved Yankee players of all time.
