Gretzky met his wife, actress Janet Jones, while serving as a judge on the competition TV series Dance Fever. At the time they both were involved in serious relationships with other people. They began dating in 1987 after running into each other at a Los Angeles Lakers game and married the following year in a massive ceremony the Canadian press called “The Royal Wedding.” Jones’s gown was a $30,000 knockout. The couple have five children together.
