NHL players: love lives off the ice

Russian born Valeri Bure played for a number of NHL leagues for 10 years. He left Moscow in the early ‘90s to play junior hockey in the U.S. He went on to become a Western Hockey League all-star and is a two-time medalist at the Olympics. He was forced to retire from hockey in 2005 after suffering hip and back injuries during training. His post-Hockey career featured a stint as a contestant on the Canadian hockey competition reality show, Battle of the Blades. He won his season opposite figure skater Ekaterina Gordeeva.
