In the 1950s and ‘60s, Carol was THE name in figure skating. For five consecutive years, she held the World Championship title, as well as making an appearance at the 1956 Winter Olympics. Here Carol was able to land the silver medal, but she still had her eyes on the prize. After four years of intense training, Carol made her Olympic return in 1960. After a nail-biting competition, Carol was able to hold onto the top spot long enough to win the gold.
