It appears that Parton is a firm believer in the old adage that “absence makes the heart grow fonder.” While loving one another and keeping their vows helped their marriage keep going strong, distance played a pretty big part too!
Parton claimed that it doesn’t hurt to have some separation, adding, “I stay gone a lot, so we’re excited when we see each other!” Actually, she claimed that when people ask how her marriage has been going for 50 years, she answers that it’s because she’s been gone for 47 of them!
