In her 2017 book, Parton explained how her and her beloved husband reached a trying time in their relationship in the late ’80s when the singer had a secret “affair of the heart.” After the hidden romance ended, Parton was left utterly heartbroken.
She was so hurt after her lover left her, found herself into a state of depression – which thankfully, with the help of her loyal and forgiving husband, she eventually overcame.
