Dean, Athena’s dad, was taken completely by surprising by the very fact the incredibly detailed message existed. Not only had they no idea she’d been writing on the back of her bedroom mirror, but they certainly would never have imagined how mature and complex her writings truly were.

“She never mentioned it,” her father Dean explained, “but it’s the kind of thing she’d do.” She was a very spiritual person, he added, and kept talking about things even he didn’t fully understand.
