Athena’s Cousin Charlotte O’Byrne spoke to the media during the funeral and talked about what she was like. Right up until her last day, she revealed, Athena was braver than every single member of her family – including the adults.

“I think that’s what gave everybody so much strength,” she said. As all of the adults saw the nobility with which she was coping with her situation, they simply knew they had to be strong, because she had set such an example for them.
