A few weeks after Athena passed away, a funeral was held for her in her hometown of Leicester, UK. The service was attended by hundreds of people, all of whom had been blown away by the teenager’s kindness and strength during her short life.

In honor of Athena, many of the mourners attended the service dressed in purple, the girl’s favorite color. It was a touching way to remember the young fighter after she’d lost her battle with cancer, and the Orchards appreciated the gesture.
