As a teenager, Alain Prost found a love of racing through go-karting and decided to leave school to follow his passion. In order to support himself, he would tune engines and sell karts on the side. His Formula One debut came in 1980, racing for McLaren but he left for Renault until 1983. His return to McLaren would be a wise move for Prost, as he would go on to win three of his four World Championships with the team, with his final one being in 1993 racing for Williams.
