Akitas haven’t always been the breed that many of us have grown to know and love today, but have been specially bred with stronger and more courageous breeds until we are left with the modern day pooch.
It’s said Akitas aren’t the best for first-time owners as they can have difficulty behaving around other dogs, and can become rather dominant in the household. Thankfully, their thick and fluffy coats make them the perfect dog breed for surviving long, harsh winters in the snow.
