The chain of command in the Royal Family is something that’s incredibly important to the Queen, and she’ll do whatever it takes to ensure that a sense of order remains in the monarchy. Of course, while it’s believed that Kate holds a stronger position than her sister-in-law, she’s still not above the rules. Apparently, when the Duchess of Cambridge is at an event where her husband isn’t present, she’s expected to show deference to blood royals like her cousins Eugenie and Beatrice, despite being closer to the throne than the princesses.
