Yelena is a pole vaulter from Russia, and she is definitely not an easy competitor. She has won the Olympic gold medal twice (in 2004 and 2008), and the World Championship three times. In 2005, she became the first ever woman pole vaulter to clear the 5 m barrier.

She is considered one of the greatest women pole vaulters of all time, and was inducted into the FICTS (Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs) Hall of Fame in 2007.
